Varsity Girls Soccer Ties Texas Storm

The varsity girls’ soccer team tied 1-1 against the homeschool team, Texas Storm.

On Monday, December 9, the McKinney Christian Academy Varsity girls’ soccer team played the Texas Storm at home. At halftime, the Mustangs were down 1-0. Both teams continued to play hard and work together. During the second half, junior Tatum Barnard scored to tie the game. When asked about her thoughts on the game, junior Hannah Doshier said, “I thought we played well, and this was a great game to prepare us for district.” The final score of the game was 1-1.

The next varsity girls’ soccer game is Thursday, December 12, at Tyler All Saints.

Tatum Barnard has been attending MCA since kindergarten and is now a junior. This will be her third year on the newspaper staff. Barnard will be playing soccer for her school in the winter. In her free time, she enjoys being with her friends, family, and playing competitive soccer. Her favorite part of MCA is the Christian community she is surrounded by every day. Barnard's favorite verse is Ephesians 2:3-5.  "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions- it is by grace you have been saved."
