On Tuesday, January 14, the McKinney Christian Academy women’s varsity and junior varsity basketball teams faced Bishop Gorman. Although they put up a good fight, they lost both games. Junior varsity lost 21-8, and varsity lost 35-69. Junior Sadie Zbranek was the leading scorer with 16 points, and freshman Elizabeth Thompson was second with 15. When freshman Petra Westra was asked about the games, she said, “With a couple of our players out it was tough to succeed but in the fourth quarter of the varsity game we focused on putting our best efforts in and we held our own. When we play this team again, we will do a lot better.”
Their next game is on Friday, January 17, against Shelton.
