MCA Band Students Participate in All Region Band

MCA students qualify for ATSSB All Region Band and All State Band.

This past weekend, McKinney Christian Academy band Sophomore Ella Downey and Eighth Grader Silas Urban participated in the ATSSB all-region band. Downey placed sixth chair in the All-Region band for high school. Urban placed first chair in the top symphonic band for the second year in the all-region middle school band. He also competed in the high school band and was awarded the third top clarinet in the state and the second in the region. Urban will perform in the TPSMEA All-State band this weekend and with the TPSMEA High School All-Region Band in Addison on February 22.

Audrey Wedemeyer is a junior and has been at MCA since her freshman year. This is her third year in newspaper and she is excited to update others on what occurs at MCA. She is very involved in her church, Cottonwood Creek, which she has been attending since she was little, and serves in worship and student ministry there. In her free time, Wedemeyer enjoys hanging out with friends, traveling and singing. She's looking forward growing in her faith and building new relationships. Her favorite Bible verse is Nahum 1:7 "The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him."
