Lady Mustangs Soccer Wins Against Dallas Christian For The District Title

McKinney Christian Women’s soccer wins the district title.

On Monday, February 17, the McKinney Christian Lady Mustangs soccer team faced off against Dallas Christian. The final score was 7-0, with the Lady Mustangs claiming the district title. Senior Casey Gerardis led with 2 goals. Senior Havilah Mahadi, Senior Kadence Ackmann, Junior Tatum Barnard, Junior Lizzie Gutschlag, and Sophomore Aubrey Hagstrom all had 1 goal. Senior Kadence Ackmann talked about the game, saying, ” It was a good way to end district with a big win.” Sophomore Aubrey Hagstrom said, ” We worked together as a team and made a statement. I’m happy we got to be undefeated district champs.”

This is Abby's 2nd year at MCA. She is a freshman. Outside of school Abby enjoys playing volleyball, going to church, and hanging out with her friends. She has been playing club volleyball for 4 years and is on the varsity volleyball team at MCA. Abby's favorite place to visit is the beach with all her family. This is Abby's first year in Newspaper and she's excited to contribute. Abby's favorite verse is 1 Peter 5:7. "Cast your anxiety on him because he cares for you."

Tara joined MCA in 2011 as our JH Texas History and PE teacher as well as a Volleyball & Softball Coach. Previously, she was the assistant Athletic Director, Volleyball and Softball Coach and PE teacher at First Baptist Academy. In 2012, she began teaching journalism classes and is the National Honor Society sponsor. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Communications with a minor in English from Texas Woman’s University.  Tara’s favorite scripture verse is: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” - Philippians 4:13
