On Monday March 10, 2025, McKinney Christian Academy Upper School students traveled to the Dream Center in Little Rock, Arkansas for Missions Week. The Dream Center is a charity and nonprofit ministry that provides love, meals, and Bible lessons to underprivileged children, many of whom live below the poverty line. The students participated in a variety of service activities throughout the trip while also trying fun foods. On Tuesday, the students started the morning bright and early by serving at the Every Arkansan warehouse. They loaded boxes of materials that were distributed to churches in the area, as well as organized supplies into bins for future packing. Later, they met the children at the Dream Center and participated in various activities, including coloring, tag, soccer, and Bible lessons, and they ended the day with a devotional. On Wednesday, the students met with Every Arkansan staff at their office to help serve. They painted the exterior of the new office building to help revitalize it and support the renovation process. They also helped organize materials such as shoes, bedding, and more. Half of the students ended the day at the Dream Center, engaging in similar activities as the day before. The other half served with the mobile unit—a van equipped with activities like singing, Bible lessons, and toys—that travels to neighborhoods to visit children who cannot make it to the Dream Center. On Thursday, the students cleaned, set up, and decorated New Life church for a daddy-daughter dance that took place that evening. The church was adorned with glitter, pink decorations, and bows. Later in the day, they followed the same system as before, with half of the students serving with the mobile unit and the other half staying at the Dream Center. On Friday, the students enjoyed a breakfast together, provided by the Dream Center, while reminiscing and sharing touching moments from the past week. Employees from Every Arkansan and the Dream Center joined them for breakfast to thank them for their hard work and hear their stories. The students returned to MCA in the mid-afternoon, around five o’clock, to kick off their spring break.
