Throughout the final week of March, many McKinney Christian Academy students drove to Waco, Texas to compete in subjects ranging from academics to art. Some subjects were speech/debate, math, art, and calculator. The Mustangs came home with three state champions, including junior Audrey Wedemeyer, senior Luke Mohler, and sophomore Asher Huffman. Wedemeyer won the state championship for calculator. Huffman won state championship for TAPPS math, and Mohler won for current events. Mohler also placed 5th in the debate. Other students who competed very well were junior Alyssa Prahl in debate and junior Adam Gicheru in advanced math. We asked Gicheru about his thoughts. ” Students also competed in the TAPPS art competitions. MCA is very proud of the students for their success at the TAPPS competition.
