Middle School Mustangs Lose to Grace Prep

The Mustangs Fall to Grace Prep at Home

The Mustangs Prepare for Battle

Grace Prep defeated McKinney Christian Academy 20-16 on Thursday, September 11, in the Mustangs’ second Middle School football game of the season. Eighth grader Jack Thompson led the team on defense with his 13 tackles. He also added one touchdown on offense. Head coach Gerald Brence said the team showed growth from its opener, noting, “We made tremendous improvement from week one. We were a lot more physical, and we are executing better. We made some mistakes, but we will continue to strive to be better every day.” The Mustangs will look to build momentum as their season progresses.

Their next game is Thursday, September 18, against Dallas Covenant.

Evan Woodard has been at MCA for 3 years and is currently a junior. This is his first year taking newspaper, and he is excited to write about all of the interesting and different things that MCA has to offer. Evan plays basketball. He also enjoys spending time with his friends and family. His favorite memory is making the state final four tournament in basketball as a sophomore. Evan is excited to support MCA by contributing to The Mane Edition as the staff writer. His favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 40:31 “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, They will walk and not be faint.”

Jack Nordhaus has been at MCA since Pre-K and is currently a freshman. This is his first year taking newspaper, and he is looking forward to taking photos at all of the fun sports that MCA offers. Jack plays football and golf. He also enjoys spending time with his friends and family. His favorite memory is winning the championship in middle school football. Jack is excited to support MCA by contributing to The Mane Edition as the photographer. His favorite Bible verse is Romans 12:19 “Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord.
