On Saturday, September 13, the McKinney Christian Academy varsity football team faced off against Grace Prep in Arlington. The Mustangs came out early swinging on Saturday, but despite a huge offensive performance where the Mustangs put up 63 points, they fell to Grace Prep 76-63 in a wildly high-scoring matchup. Both teams lit up the scoreboard. The Mustangs took their first loss of the season, putting their record at 2-1. The Mustangs aim to continue their strong season next week, traveling to Waco Reicher. Junior wide receiver, Chase Bruegel, put on a show with 260 yards and racked up three total touchdowns. This performance, along with senior quarterback Cody Dow, who threw for an impressive 560 yards and six total touchdowns. Even though the Mustangs didn’t come away with the win, their fight and offensive performance stood out. They will look to turn this momentum into next week.
