On Friday, September 26, the MCA Mustangs played against Keene High School. The Mustangs had an outstanding game Friday night, securing a great win by a score of 48–6, which improved their season record to 4-1 and showcased a well-balanced attack on both sides of the ball. Leading the offense was quarterback Cody Dow, who threw for 156 passing yards and three touchdowns. Dow’s performance helped the Mustangs jump out to an early lead and never look back. His favorite target of the night was wide receiver Chase Bruegel, who racked up 66 receiving yards and a touchdown, and added to the offense was freshman Jackson Whitworth, who contributed 33 yards and a touchdown. The MCA defense played lights-out, holding Keene High to just one touchdown and making key stops to stop any chance of a comeback. The game ended early due to an injury to a player from Keene High School. With the 48–6 win, the MCA Mustangs continue to build momentum and confidence as they go into their bye week, and following that, McKinney Christian will take on the Shelton Chargers.
