The McKinney Christian Academy Mustangs faced a tough matchup this week and fell to Atlas by a final score of 42-6. The middle school team showed early promise, keeping the game close in the first half, but struggled to stop Atlas after halftime. At halftime, the Mustangs trailed only 14-6, with seventh grade quarterback, Eli Comeau, connecting for a touchdown pass in the second quarter. Comeau put up an impressive performance, finishing the game with 130 passing yards and the team’s only score of the night. Despite the close contest early on, Atlas came out firing in the second half, scoring 28 unanswered points. Their offense overwhelmed the Mustangs’ defense in the final two quarters. The mustangs look to jump back next week. When seventh grader, Grayson Strobush, was asked how the game went he said, “there is a lot we need to work on as a team, but we will be ready by the next game.” Their next game is on October 9th.
