On Thursday, October 2, the McKinney Christian Academy Mustangs faced a tough matchup this week and fell to Providence Christian by a final score of 42-7. The Middle School team showed early promise, keeping the game close in the first half, but struggled to stop Providence after halftime. At halftime, seventh grader Jack Rehombus put up an impressive performance, finishing the game with over 50 receiving yards and the team’s only score of the night. Despite the close contest early on, Providence came out firing in the second half. Their offense overwhelmed the Mustangs’ defense in the final two quarters. The Mustangs look to jump back next week. When seventh grader Graham Fisher was asked what he thought about the game, and he said, “I feel like we played really good. We fought till the end and we would have done a lot better if we didn’t miss so many tackles.”
Their next game is on October 9th against Shelton.
