On Friday, October 10, the Mustangs delivered an outstanding performance on our home field, beating Shelton with a score of 45-24. Right from the kickoff, the Mustangs started off hot and went up 14-0 early. The offense was truly unstoppable, executing plays and moving the ball down the field with no resistance. Senior quarterback Cody Dow had himself a game, throwing for 257 yards and four touchdowns. Junior, Harry Thompson, also had a standout game, racking up two touchdowns and 102 receiving yards. Junior, Chase Bruegel, had 62 receiving yards and one touchdown. The Mustangs’ defense played outstanding all night, shutting down Shelton’s offense and forcing turnovers all game. The energy from the crowd was electric; every big play was met with cheers, creating an amazing atmosphere that helped the Mustangs. Although Shelton was unable to come back in the second half, the Mustang’s remained focused and determined to secure the victory. In the end, it was a win with a score of 45-24. This game was a historic moment as the Mustangs celebrated our very first home game victory on our own turf. The Mustangs play next Friday, October 17, at Houston Cypress Christian.
