On Thursday, October 23, McKinney Christian Academy hosted the annual tailgate. Towards the beginning of the tailgate, homecoming dates exchanged mums and garters that they had customized for each other. The event opened with an opening prayer by MCA’s very own Senior, Adam Gicheru, and was followed by the national anthem, sung by the MCA lower school honor choir. The next performance that took place was by the MCA band, which played the McKinney Christian Academy fight song and “Land of 1,000 Dances.” Fall sports were then announced and brought onto the field, which included cross-country, volleyball, and football. Showing off their routine, the middle school cheerleaders took the field, which was followed by a performance from the Varsity cheerleaders. The Little Stang cheerleaders from kindergarten to fifth grade showed off multiple cheers to entertain the crowd. The 2025 homecoming court was announced and brought onto the stage for recognition. The homecoming court includes freshmen, Laura Kuhlhorst and Enzo Trementozzi; sophomores, Petra Westra and Judah Krause; juniors, Maggie Emley and Luke Ryan, and seniors, Katherine Abouzeid, Makennah Vann, Tatum Barnard, Dylan Neuner, Porter Carroll, Luke Webb, Ben Thomas and Daniel Seeley. When freshmen, Laura Kuhlhorst, was asked about how she felt being on the homecoming court, she said, “I feel so blessed to be on the homecoming court because it’s such a memorable moment. I am really looking forward to the dance.” MCA families throughout the entire school were invited to come and show their Mustang Pride.
