On December 6, the girls’ varsity basketball team participated in the S&S Tournament. The team finished the weekend with a 2-2 record. They played a total of 4 games, winning 2 and losing 2. In their first game, they faced Whitesboro JV and won by a dominant 64-15 score. The team controlled the game from start to finish, establishing a significant lead early and maintaining it throughout. The next day, they played at Sadler High School. The game was competitive, but the Mustangs secured a 41-30 victory. This game was more closely contested, with both teams exchanging leads. However, the Mustangs maintained their advantage and closed out the game with an 11-point lead. The team played two additional games during the tournament, which resulted in losses. They played against the Whitesboro High School varsity team. They lost 30-36. They also lost to Texoma Christian. They lost 28-53. These games provided the Mustangs with valuable experience, allowing them to identify areas for improvement moving forward. Sophomore, Elizabeth Thompson, spoke about the tournament saying, “I am very proud about how our team did this weekend and I am excited to see where this season will take us.”
The lady’s next game is on Monday, December 8, against Prince of Peace.
