On January 6, the MCA girls’ varsity basketball team played against Dallas Christian for their first district game. The game ended with a 53–41 loss for the Lady Mustangs. MCA stayed close during parts of the game, but Dallas Christian kept the lead through the final minutes. Sophomore, Elizabeth Thompson, led the Lady Mustangs in scoring with 21 points. The team continued to work the ball on offense and played defense throughout the game. The matchup was part of the regular season as MCA prepares for upcoming games. when sophomore, Cana Heckadon, was asked about the game she said, “We had good defense and we put lots of pressure on their key players.”
