On Friday, January 9, the middle school D1 girls’ basketball team played against Legacy Christian. The final score of the game was 44-12. Eighth grader, Taylor Vineyard, scored all twelve points for the Lady Mustangs. Taylor also had eight rebounds. Eighth grader Iyla McKeehan spoke on the game against Legacy. She said, “The first half was slow, and we didn’t have much communication between teammates. But after halftime, we locked in and worked together. We had good energy and communication. Even though we lost, we grew as a team.” The ladies’ next game is Monday, January 12, against Providence.

Brittany Bartoo has been attending MCA since Pre-K and is now a freshman. This is her first year in newspaper, and she is excited to be a part of The Mane Edition. Brittany is currently a part of the varsity volleyball team for MCA. She is also planning to be the Varsity girls basketball and softball manager for MCA in the winter and spring. Outside of school, Brittany plays club volleyball and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.Brittany’s favorite Bible verse is Psalm 139:14“I praiseyou because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
