On Tuesday, January 13th, the McKinney Christian Mustangs basketball team faced off against the Bishop Gorman Crusaders for their biggest game yet. The Mustangs came out hot, jumping to a commanding 50-8 lead early in the game and setting the tone from the opening tip. Senior, Manny Weaver, said this about the big game: “It’s such a big game, and everyone is looking forward to it, so it should be really exciting.” Junior, Diego Landin, led the way with 28 points and 3 of 4 from the three-point line, followed by senior, Manny Weaver, with 17 points. The Mustangs ended up winning 77-32 in crushing fashion. There next game is on Friday, January 16, against Shelton.


The JV team also had a dominant performance against Bishop Gorman, winning 67-28. Junior, Luke Ashcraft, played a key role in the win and spoke after the game, saying, “We went out there, played with heart, and showed that our hard work is paying off. We’re just trying to keep building, getting better every day, and doing our part to help MCA shine.”
