On Saturday, January 17, the D1 and D2 middle school boys’ basketball teams competed in multiple games. The tournament took place at Celina High School. D1 played hard in three games against the opposing teams. Their first game was an unfortunate loss with a close score of 53-46. The second game was a harder loss, coming in at 64-23. The Mustangs persevered through the tough game. Lastly, the D1 team concluded with another close game, finishing with a score of 36-24. D2 also participated in three games at the Celina tournament. The first game they played was a challenging one, resulting in a 38-29 loss. They pushed through their second game, which was much more difficult and fast-paced. It was a hard loss with a score of 43-15. Even after they played a rough game, they continued to push through the tournament and finished off the third and final game with another loss. The score for their last game was 62-25. When D2 player, Blake Addams, was asked about how his team can improve for future games, he said, “We can improve on our defense, rebounds and aggression. We will keep working hard at practice and playing with our heads held high for the coming season.”
