On Friday, February 6, the Lady Mustangs basketball team faced a challenging opponent in Tyler All Saints. Sophomore Elizabeth Thompson led the team in scoring with 13 points. Approaching the second quarter of the game, the score was close, and both teams were pushing to close the gap. The All Saints kept the lead for most of the game. With a loss for the Mustangs, the game came to an end with the score coming in at 27-52. Sophomore Lyric Scott, went on to say, “Unfortunately, we fell short, but I am excited to improve and make the playoffs next season.” When freshman, Carrington Lansford, was asked about her thoughts on their performance, she stated, “Even though we came up short in the end, we will use this momentum to bounce back and work harder for the upcoming game.” Their next game is on Monday, February 9, against Shelton.

Madison Diedrick is currently a freshman attending McKinney Christian Academy. This is her 11th year being blessed with the opportunity to be a part of the MCA community. Madison is very excited to join the Newspaper staff as a staff writer. She is looking forward to contributing to the MCA Mane Edition. Madison enjoys spending her free time cheerleading and in the company of her friends. The MCA cheer team, alongside both of her competitive cheerleading teams, keeps her exceedingly busy. Jude Bleecker is a junior and has been at MCA for 4 years. He is looking forward to this year’s basketball season and is excited to play and win. He is involved in choir and photography at his school. This is his third year in newspaper, and he is ready to get started! He loves spending time with my family and friends and loves watching sports. Bleecker loves to travel and be with family.
