McKinney Christian Boys Basketball Take On Bishop Gorman

Boys Varsity and JV Basketball Defeat Bishop Gorman

Team huddle to discuss the next play

On Tuesday, February 10, the McKinney Christian boys varsity and JV basketball teams took on Bishop Gorman. It was an away game hosted at Bishop Gorman. Both the varsity and JV teams won their games. The JV score was 65–31. Junior Jude Bleecker had 8 points for the JV. The varsity boys finished with a score of 79–49. Evan Woodard had this to say about the game, “We played really well and put all our effort into being able to take the win. We had great defense and made sure to keep pressure on them as much as we could.” The JV season ended with a final victory, securing them as district champions. The varsity boys basketball team plays next on February 17 at McKinney Christian Academy for the Area Playoffs.

Collin Kincheloe has been at MCA since the 4th grade. He is currently in his junior year. This is his first year in newspaper, and he is looking forward to writing all about everything MCA offers. His favorite thing to do in his free time is going to the gym and hanging out with his friends. His favorite memory is going to Hawaii with his family over the summer. He enjoys spending time with his family. He is very excited to work in a newspaper and contribute to writing articles about MCA. His favorite verse is Philippians 4:13: ” I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Cana Heckadon has attended MCA since sixth grade and is currently in her sophomore year. This is her second year in newspaper, and she is excited to develop a new skill and make new friends. Cana’s primary sport is basketball; however, she also enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her favorite memory is of her trip to San Pedro, Belize, where she met many new people. Cana is looking forward to enhancing photography for The Mane Edition. With the LORD on her side, she lives by her favorite Bible verse, Luke 6:38 ” Give, and it will be given to you.”
