On Tuesday, February 17th the McKinney Christian Mustangs suffered a narrow 2–1 loss to First Baptist in a memorable game played at Frisco RoughRiders Stadium. The game provided the Mustangs with a unique opportunity to compete on a professional-level field. McKinney Christian’s only run came from junior, Josh Anderson, who recorded the only RBI for the Mustangs. While they didn’t hit most of the game, the Mustangs made up for it with strong defense and good pitching that kept the game within reach. The Mustangs played clean baseball in the field and limited scoring opportunities, but were unable to generate enough offense to complete the comeback. When sophomore, Cal Miller, was asked how the game went, he said: “We didn’t play our best game and could do better on offense, but it was a good learning opportunity to take with us to the next games.” Their next game is on Friday, February 20, in a tournament.
