On Friday, February 28, the McKinney Christian Academy Varsity baseball team would go playdown in Waco, Texas for the Live Oak Classic hosted by the Live Oak Falcons. In the tournament’s first game, the Mustangs faced off against Brook Hill. The Mustangs started game one rough, and went down by 9 and was not able to come back. The Mustangs lost game one 14-0. In the tournament’s second game, the Mustangs faced off against Austin hill country. In this game, Junior, Ian Mulligan, started on the mound. The Stangs won 16-0. In the tournament’s final match, the Stangs faced off against the host school, Live Oak. The Stangs fell behind early going down 2-0, but scored 4 in the next inning. The Mustangs fought hard but ended up with a tie 5-5. The Mustangs finished the weekend with a record of 1-1-1. The Mustangs next game is Monday, March 2nd. When asked about the whole weekend, Mulligan said, “We didn’t have our best weekend, but we are gonna learn from it and move on.”
