Last Thursday, on February 8, the Mustangs faced off against their rival Dallas Covenant. The two teams tied for first in district so had to play for first and second seed in playoffs. Senior Captain Mary Hana Spencer stated, “Going into the game we knew we had to play our best. Covenant is always a tough opponent so bringing our A-game was really important.” In the first half, Kate Witte, 11, scored with an assist from Emma Thompson, 11. At the end of the first half the score was 1-3 with the Mustangs down two. Despite the teams best efforts they did not end up catching up and ended with that same score. The Lady Mustangs will play Cristo Rey on Tuesday and work toward their goal of winning state.
