On Friday, April 27, MCA athletes arrived bright and early at the school to make the hour and a half treck to Lancaster High School. Students came prepared to run their best in order to qualify for State in Waco the following week. Those that qualified include Brooke Fillebrown, Elyse Mead, Riley Pyle, Josh Pawlish, and Marissa Wilks. Fillebrown, Mead, and Pyle all qualified in the mile. Pyle and Fillebrown both qualified in the two mile as well. Mead qualified in the 800m too. Pawlish qualified in shot and discuss as well as Wilks. Captain Riley Pyle stated, “I’m really excited about making it to state this year. I can’t wait to go out and compete my best for the third year in a row and hopefully place.” Travel out to Waco this weekend to cheer on the Mustangs as they take on State.”
