The McKinney Christian wrestlers competed at the Prep State tournament in Houston on Saturday, February 1. Junior Nate Gwynn and Sophomore Denzel Poulter were both able to qualify for nationals after placing top three in their weight classes. When second place finisher Nate Gwynn was asked about how much this Prep State tournament meant to the team he stated, “After a long season of hard work, I was glad we were finally able to display what we’ve learned and fight for a state title.” The wrestling team will host the TAPPS State Wrestling Tournament February 15 here at MCA.
