On Thursday April 25, the McKinney Christian Academy varsity track team traveled to the University of Texas at Arlington for the 4A Regional meet. The top four in each event from the district meet moved on to Regionals and everyone on the MCA team made it forward. Senior, Jacob Dover-Smith set two school records in 200m and 100m with times of 22.25s and 10.83s, taking first place in each race respectively. Senior Noah Wheeler placed 3rd in the 400m with a season record of 51.30s. The men’s 4x100m relay team which consist of senior Jacob Dover-Smith, sophomore Adam Gicheru, senior, Noah Wheeler and junior Caleb Atherton took home first place running a time of 43.55s and breaking the school record. The girls 4x200m relay team consist of senior Meilania Vance, sophomore Lizzie Gutschlag, sophomore Natalie Siebrasse and junior Jaden Brock also qualified for state running a time of of 1:54.92. Overall on the day, the men’s team took home 3rd place overall as a team scoring 78 points.
The State meet will be on Friday May 3 and Saturday, May 4 in Waco, Texas.
