On Wednesday, August 28, the McKinney Christian Lady Mustangs’ volleyball team traveled to Orlando, Florida. The Mustangs started off the first day winning two games, but fell short to Fort Worth All Saints. On day two of the tournament the Lady Mustangs beat Highland Christian. Then they played Monsignor Pace in a tight match, but eventually pulled through and won in three sets. On the last day of the KSA tournament, the Lady Mustangs battled with Lake Cormorant High School in the semi-finals. The game was close, but the Mustangs unfortunately fell short to Lake Cormorant 18-16 in the third set. They finished the tournament with the third place game playing Moody High School and won in two sets. The Mustangs fought hard for every point of every match and finished third overall in the KSA tournament. Junior Aubrey Hejl talked about the tournament saying, “The tournament went well, we grew a lot as a team. We got to see our strengths and weaknesses. I’m excited to get back to practice and work hard.”
The Mustangs next game is Tuesday, September 3, against Wylie Prep.
