On Friday, November 8, the Mustangs held their final pep rally of the year in the SLC. The rally’s theme was USA, and students of all grades went all out in red, white, and blue outfits. The pep rally started with a performance from our cheerleaders. Then we recognized the senior athletes with a heartfelt slideshow showing all of them as babies and now. The senior parents danced at the party in the USA and even had some stunts at the end. One of the parents dancing, Coach Ackmann, said, “We just wanted to embarrass our kids, and we met as a group and practiced the night before.” For the activity, this pep rally, ten students faced off in a challenge of head, shoulders, knees, and cup, which sophomore Cory Sizemore won. There was also a final recognition of the seniors, starting with Evan Bleeker, who plays football, and Coach Whitsett, who gave a kind speech about him. Then, the two cheerleading seniors, Elise Winston and Rachel Jones, also received a kind word and gift from their coach. To end the pep rally, the seniors sang the fight song together.
