On Monday, September 16, The McKinney Christian Academy Middle School D1 volleyball team played against Dallas Covenant. In the first set, they started strong, winning 25-7. In the second set, they won 25-13. When eighth grader Marlee Depetris shared her thoughts on the game, she said,” The overall game was really good, and our serves were on point.” The D2 game also happened today. They started off by losing the first set by a score of 19-25. In the second set, they came back and won 25-20. They fought hard in the third set but lost by a close score of 12-15. Sixth grader Mikaela Hunt said, “During the game, we passed well as a team, but we could work on communication next time.” The D3 game also played on this day. They started the first set by winning 25-18. In the second set, they unfortunately lost 15-25. They finished out the third set by losing 7-15. Sixth grader Brynn Mejan talks about the game saying, “The first set we had great teamwork, but in the second and third we lost energy.”

Presley Dreffs has been at MCA since 4th grade and is currently a freshman. This is her first year of newspaper and she is excited for all the opportunities this year will bring. Presley is apart of the MCA volleyball program, but also enjoys playing it outside of school. In her freetime, Presley enjoys hanging out with her friends and family. Her favorite memory is when the softball coach surprised the softball team with Nerf guns and water balloons.
Presley's favorite verse is Philippians 4:6.
