On Tuesday, October 8, the Varsity Lady Mustangs played Rockwall Heritage. Seniors Bren Williams and Kadence Ackmann led the game with nine kills. In the first set, the Mustangs ended with a close score of 25-21. In the second set, they won with a score of 25-23. They finished the third set with a score of 25-13. Senior Mia Gunn shares her thoughts saying, “It was a super fun and competitive game. I’m glad we had a chance to play another really good team before going into the second round of districts.”

The JV team also faced off against Rockwall Heritage. The Lady Mustangs finished the first set with a whopping score of 25-6. In the second set, they ended the game with a score of 25-9. Junior Bri Guthrie shares her thoughts saying, ” I had such a fun time playing with my teammates. We also had the opportunity to try new plays with our front row. Overall, we worked very well as a united team.” This game was a success for the Lady Mustangs.

Presley Dreffs has been at MCA since 4th grade and is currently a freshman. This is her first year of newspaper and she is excited for all the opportunities this year will bring. Presley is apart of the MCA volleyball program, but also enjoys playing it outside of school. In her freetime, Presley enjoys hanging out with her friends and family. Her favorite memory is when the softball coach surprised the softball team with Nerf guns and water balloons. Presley's favorite verse is Philippians 4:6. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God."

Hi, I'm Bailey and I'm a freshman. I have been attending MCA since 3rd grade. I enjoy playing volleyball, being with friends, and being with family. This is my first year in newspaper and I'm very excited. My favorite MCA memory is going to the championship for D1 in 8th grade and having an undefeated season. My favorite bible verse is Psalms 27:19. "As water reflects the face, so one's life reflects the heart."

Cana Heckadon has attended MCA since sixth grade and is currently in her freshman year. This is her first year in newspaper and she is excited to develop a new skill and make new friends. Cana's main sport is basketball; however, she also enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her favorite memory is when she went to San Pedro, Belize and met many new people. Cana is looking forward to enhancing photography for The Mane Edition. With the LORD on her side, she lives by her favorite Bible verse, Luke 6:38 " Give, and it will be given to you."
