From March 8 through 14, McKinney Christian Academy sent students and teachers to the Dominican Republic. This trip was an opportunity to help people in need while learning about the culture of the locals. The team was able to help local churches, schools, and organizations through projects like painting homes. It allowed them to give back and gain a deeper understanding of people’s challenges in other parts of the world. This experience was rewarding to the group and led them to grow personally and see the world differently. It made the students more grateful for the things that they had. They got to hang out with kids at the church and pour their kindness and love on them. When asked about the trip, sophomore, Luke Dreffs said, “I had fun hanging with the kids, and I grew closer to Jesus.”
