McKinney Christian Academy Varsity Softball Team Beats Wylie Prep

The Varsity Softball Team Run Rules Wylie Prep

On Friday, April 11, the McKinney Christian Academy Varsity softball team beat Wylie Prep. The final score was 15-2 after the Lady Mustangs run ruled Wylie Prep in the fifth inning. Freshman Harper Johnson pitched all five innings, getting many strikeouts. When Head Coach Whitsett was asked about the game, he said, “The girls came out for their fourth game of the week with lots of spirit and motivation. The girls played consistently well in all phases of the game, including their batting, base running, fielding, and pitching. Overall, I am very pleased with the progression in the development of our team.”

Their next game is on Tuesday, April 15, against Dallas Christian.

Elizabeth Thompson, staff writer

Elizabeth Thompson has been going to MCA since she was in sixth grade and is now a freshman. This is her first year in newspaper, and she is excited to be apart of it. Her favorite sport is basketball, and is looking forward for the season to start in the winter. She also plays softball, and is planning to play for the school in the spring. Outside of school, she plays AAU basketball for a team named Valor, and likes to spend time with her friends and family. Her favorite memory at MCA was when she and a couple of friends were chased by a deer walking back from getting water at Prude Ranch. Her favorite bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord. “Plans to prosper you, and not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future.”

Cana Heckadon has attended MCA since sixth grade and is currently in her freshman year. This is her first year in newspaper and she is excited to develop a new skill and make new friends. Cana’s main sport is basketball; however, she also enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her favorite memory is when she went to San Pedro, Belize and met many new people. Cana is looking forward to enhancing photography for The Mane Edition. With the LORD on her side, she lives by her favorite Bible verse, Luke 6:38 ” Give, and it will be given to you.”
