On Tuesday, April 22, the McKinney Christian Academy Lower School third graders celebrated Space Day. It was a science exploration day where the students were able to do many stem minded things to develop their knowledge about space and the solar system. They went out to the field and set up rocket launchers with Mrs. Boese, where they were able to shoot rockets into the sky. They played games about the solar system outside, such as a game that included running around cones and throwing a ball into a hula hoop. They also talked about airplanes, made phases of the moon from Oreos and made constellations of stars with marshmallows and toothpicks. When third graders Hollis Hull, Andi Hall and Tindyl Barnard were asked about the day, they said, “The day was so much fun. We got to learn about space and show off what we learned to our teachers and classmates. We had a lot of fun doing things with our friends as well.”
