On Wednesday, April 15, the 2025 lady Mustangs’ soccer state champions were asked to attend the city council meeting. Here, the girls were recognized for winning the state championship not once but twice. George Fuller, mayor of Mckinney, congratulated the team for winning state back-to-back. In the City of Mckinney Proclamation it states, “the MCA Mustangs girls soccer team has reached the State semi-finals three years in a row and are back-to-back champions of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools, having won in both the 2023-24 and 2024-25 school years; and led by Head Coach Wendy McDowell and assistants Rhett McKeller and Heidi Blake.” Mayor Fuller went on to say, “therefore, I, George C. Fuller by the power vested in me as mayor of the city of McKinney, Texas, do herby proclaim the day of April 15, 2025, as the day to celebrate.”
