On Thursday, November 20, McKinney Christian Academy hosted a special event known as Corn Day. The first-grade students rotated through various corn-related activities to celebrate God’s creation. Fourteen stations were laid out from corn hole to math-related activities, and even constructing their very own beaded corn stocks. The children had the opportunity to eat popcorn and participate in some messier activities, such as making oobleck from corn starch and water and painting corn on the cob. Corn Day is a treasured MCA tradition that allows parents an opportunity to participate in their child’s learning through engaging stations. When Grace Olson was asked about her experience with Corn Day, she said, “I am so excited that I got to be a part of Corn Day. My favorite part of the day was the buttered popcorn and hanging out with all of my friends.”
