On Tuesday, February 3, the McKinney Christian Mustangs defeated the Shelton basketball team on Senior Night in their final home district game, fueled by their seniors. ESPN made a guest appearance at the Stangs’ Senior Night. Seniors, Jaydan Vicknair, Manny Weaver, and Daniel Seeley, with 35, 21, and 16 points, respectively. From the tip-off, the Stangs were intense, building a 50-0 lead. The Seniors’ dominance on the court, combined with their teammates’ teamwork, propelled the Mustangs to a hard-fought victory. Despite the Senior Night festivities, the Mustangs stayed locked in, rallying around each other to secure the win. As the final buzzer sounded, the celebration erupted among players, coaches, and fans alike, marking a memorable conclusion to the regular season. With the playoffs on the horizon, the Mustangs will look to build upon this victory, drawing strength from their resilience and tenacity as they continue their pursuit of success on the basketball court. The final was 103-30.
Senior Jaydan Vicknair had this to say about what being a senior leader for this Mustang squad means to him: “It means a lot to be able to help my teammates develop.”
