On Monday, March 2, the McKinney Christian Academy Mustangs erased a six-run deficit to earn a 6–6 tie against the Lucas Christian Knights in an eight-inning battle that showcased resilience and depth on the mound. After surrendering three runs in the first inning and three more in the second, the Mustangs found themselves in an early hole. Senior, Kolton Kuykendall, started the game before freshman, Jacob Agness, came on in relief to steady things, helping hold the Knights scoreless in the third and fourth innings. McKinney Christian began its comeback with a run in the bottom of the second and continued to chip away before tying the game in the sixth. Sophomore, Hudson Rice, closed out the contest, keeping Lucas Christian off the board in the late innings as the game remained knotted at 6–6 until it was called after the eighth. Junior, Josh Anderson, said this about the game, ” It was a tough game, and we’re going to learn from it and move on, but we showed what we can do when we’re down big in a game.” The Mustangs play next on Thursday, March 5, against Brookhill School in Tyler.
