On Thursday, Aug. 24, the McKinney Christian Academy Middle School football team travelled to Fort Worth, Texas and went head to head against Lake Country Christian School. This was the Mustangs’ first game of the season. The game started out with the Mustangs’ offense having trouble getting started as they fell behind 14-6 early in the game. Then, eighth grader Wheeler Clayton had a game changing catch and 50 yard run for a touchdown to bring the score 14-12. Clayton also made the game tying catch on a two-point conversion to ultimately end the game with a score of 14-14. When asked how he felt during the play, Clayton responded, “I felt the adrenaline pumping and that we need to win this game and we needed that touchdown.”

Their next game will take place on Thursday, Aug. 31, at First Baptist Academy.
