On Friday, September 8, the McKinney Christian Academy football team played Pantego Christian Academy at Ron Poe Stadium. Senior Cash Etheredge scored a 5-yard touchdown towards the end of the first quarter. Going into the second quarter, senior Drew Denton and freshman Angel Lopez both scored touchdowns. At this point, the Mustangs were up 20-6. The players had to leave the field for over an hour due to a lightning delay. Once the storm finally passed, Pantego scored a touchdown, but the Mustangs were quick to respond. Third quarter touchdowns came from seniors Noah Wheeler, Cash Etheredge, and Caden Brown. To finish the game off, Etheredge ran 72 yards for another Mustangs touchdown. The final score of the game was 42-31. Etheredge’s 200 rushing yards were more than enough to fuel the Mustangs to a win.
The Mustang’s next game is Friday, September 15, at Ron Poe Stadium.
