On Friday, September 15, the McKinney Christian Academy varsity football team went head-to-head against Founders Classical Academy in the annual homecoming game. The first quarter started off slow as it ended in a score of 7-6 with the Mustangs ahead. Then in the second quarter, the Mustangs’ offense exploded scoring 30 points and holding Founders to zero. In the third quarter, the Mustangs scored 14 points while Founders put a few on the board scoring eight. Finally, the fourth quarter Founders outscored the Mustangs with a score of 7-8. The game ended in a final score of 58-22. Some highlights of the game included seniors Drew Denton passing for 158 yards and Cash Etheredge running 200 yards on the turf for two weeks straight and freshman Angel Lopez recovering two fumbles.
Their next game is at home on Friday, September 22, against Trinity Christian Academy Lubbock.
