On Saturday, April 12, McKinney Christian Academy hosted an auction at the Flower Mill in Downtown McKinney. When the guests arrived, they got the chance to bid on items in the silent auction. Many items included a Louis Vuitton purse, fine jewelry, and different services. A “Garden Party” was hosted, serving drinks and appetizers. Once all of the guests arrived, each guest was served BBQ. After dinner, they began a live auction for MCA parents and sponsors. They auctioned off parking spots, different trips, and special services. There was also a flag race held. Where people raise money for their college of choice to be hung and flown on the MCA campus, the college that won the flag race was Oklahoma State. Head of school, Heath Nivens, spoke about the gala and auction.”The Boots and Pearls Dinner and Auction was a fantastic night of celebrating MCA. It was such a joy to have the opportunity to spend time with the families and partners of our incredible school. I am incredibly thankful to the auction committee and their hard work, making this a God-honoring night. I cannot wait for our students to be impacted by the generosity of those in attendance as we expand academic offerings and enhance our school. What a great privilege to be part of such a wonderful evening filled with fun and community.” This event is always a big success; families look forward to it all year.

Hi, I’m Bailey and I’m a freshman. I have been attending MCA since 3rd grade. I enjoy playing volleyball, being with friends, and being with family. This is my first year in newspaper and I’m very excited. My favorite MCA memory is going to the championship for D1 in 8th grade and having an undefeated season. My favorite bible verse is Psalms 27:19.
“As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.”
