On Thursday, May 1, Mrs. Krause’s eighth-grade classes observed the National Day of Prayer by walking around the MCA campus. It began with a history lesson on the National Day of Prayer and the impact prayer has on our lives. Next, they walked to five stations around campus to pray for specific topics. The first station was the flagpole, where they prayed for our country, national leaders, and local leaders. From there, they walked to the entrance of our school and prayed for the city of McKinney and our surrounding communities. Next, they walked to the middle of campus, circled the cross, and prayed for our school, administrators, teachers, students, and parents. The final two stations were in the Middle School square, where the students prayed for their classmates and their needs. The students shared prayer requests about finishing the school year strong, and finished by praying for their future next year in Upper School. Eighth grader Connor Leick shares his experience, saying, ” I was so grateful to be able to spend more time in prayer with the Lord, and it feels really good to be able to do that here. It makes you count your blessings and realize how blessed we are to be able to worship him freely.”
