From April 9th through 11th, the McKinney Christian Academy upper school theatre presented its Spring Musical, The Little Mermaid. The theatre students have been preparing for this show since the beginning of the year. Many people in attendance of the show said it was a fantastic performance and the sets and acting was amazing. When asked about how the play went, the Fine Arts and Theatre teacher, Julie Tucker, said, “I am incredibly proud of the students for taking on the challenge of such a large-scale musical. Bringing familiar and beloved characters to life is no small task, especially when also mastering singing and choreography; they rose to the occasion beautifully. I was equally impressed by the technical theatre students, who skillfully managed complex scene changes and demanding lighting and sound cues, ensuring the entire production flowed seamlessly”. When asked about how the play went freshman, Camden Holley said, “I think it went really well and all the work paid off and that we improved every night.” Looking forward to the next Fine Art show, the choir dinner show, on April 25th.
