The MCA Lower School student wait for chapel to start.

On Monday, January 8, the McKinney Christian Academy Lower School had their first chapel of the second semester. Each Lower Schooler in third through fifth grade was paired up with a student in Pre-K through second grade. For the new semester, the Lower School met on the deck before chapel, where everyone was paired with their buddy. The Lower Schoolers met their buddy, and then sat next to them in chapel. Every chapel, the Lower School students will learn about a new fruit of the spirit. For this chapel, Captain Courage came and talked to the kids about goodness and what that means. When asked about chapel, fourth grader Eden Lansford said, “Chapel was very good and I was so excited to meet my new buddy! I was a little sad to leave my old buddy, but my new one is amazing!”

Hi, I'm Aubrey Hagstrom! I am in 9th grade this year, and I have been at MCA since third grade. After school, I enjoy playing soccer and hanging out with my friends and my little brother. This is my first year in the newspaper staff, and my favorite MCA memory was my 8th grade Spring Semi-Formal.  My favorite Bible verse is Psalm 37:23-24 "The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand."
