On Wednesday, May 13, McKinney Christian hosted the second annual Stangspys, where all of MCA’s athletes gather and celebrate each other’s accomplishments. All of MCA’s sports gathered together. This included girls’ volleyball, basketball, golf, track, cross country, and soccer. The boys’ teams included basketball, golf, track, cross country, and soccer. Multiple athletes were recognized for their great works. The male athlete of the year was Junior, Diego Landin. The female athlete of the year was Senior, Sadie Blake. Male Newcomer of the year was, Junior, Leo Jimenez Soto. The female newcomer of the year was sophomore, Elizabeth Thompson. Play of the year went to the girls’ varsity soccer team. The best male championship performance went to Junior, Ian Mulligan. The best female championship performance went to Senior, Tatum Barnard. Comeback player of the year went to Senior, Ben Thomas. Game of the year went to Football Home Turf. Rising female and male stars were freshman, Jackson Wittwer and freshman, Kate Thomas. Breakout athlete of the year went to senior, Jaydan Vicknair. Moment of the year went to boys’ basketball. Male and female impacts players of the year went to seniors, Daniel Seeley and Lizzie Gutschlag. Team of the year went to boys basketball and girls soccer.
