During McKinney Christian Academy’s annual mission week, students went to the Dominican Republic for seven days and had the opportunity to serve the people there in the name of God. While in the Dominican Republic the group traveled to many different places to serve the community. These include Santa Alicia Church, Monte Plata, Santo Domingo Christian School, and a beach to conclude the trip. The students made a lasting impact in the Santa Alicia Church by holding a free dental clinic and painting the church. MCA was also able to hold a volleyball clinic at the Santo Domingo Christian School. In each of these locations students did a bible story, craft, games and music for all of the kids to get to participate in and hear God’s word. Sophomore, Maddie Labunski was asked about her experience in the Dominican Republic and said, “The mission trip to Dominican Republic was my first mission trip with MCA and it was the best experience I have ever had. I saw God’s love firsthand and how great he is through everything we did there and through all the people we met. This whole week reminded me that God is with you always and never leaves your side even in the hardest times.”
