The 2018 Upper School Choir, Upper School Ensemble, and the Middle School Choir presented Christmas songs on the evening of December 4. The choirs were accompanied by the Middle and Upper School Band and the Middle and Upper School Art showcase. Choir Director, Janine Locke directed the choirs for her third year at MCA and was accompanied by Locke’s friend, Hannah Robison on the piano. The sixth grade choir performed, “Let There be Peace on Earth” arranged by Jay Althouse and “Winter Fantasy” by Jill Gallina. The Middle School choir performed “A Celtic Silent Night” arranged by Patrick Tierney and “Sleigh Ride” arranged by Mark Brymer. The sixth grade choir and the Middle School choir then combined to sing “White Christmas” arranged by Mark Brymer. After the Middle School performance, the Mixed Vocal Ensemble performed “Somewhere in my Memory” arranged by Mark Hayes and “God Rest You Merry Gentlemen” arranged by Larry Shackley. The Upper School choir came on after Vocal Ensemble to sing “Angels We Have Heard on High” and “Sing We Now of Christmas” both arranged by Cristi Carry Miller. For the last song of the night, the Vocal Ensemble and Upper School Choir joined together to sing “Carol of the Bells” arranged by Peter Wilhousky. The 2018 Christmas Showcase was a great way to show off our Fine Arts department while bringing Christmas cheer to the parents, students, and faculty.
