Varsity players high five the JV team after their 3 set win over Dallas Covenant.

The McKinney Christian Academy Varsity Volleyball team played at Covenant Christian on Thursday, September 7. The Mustangs started off with the game with momentum and high energy, but in the second set the Mustangs lacked in effort and communication. Despite a rocky second set, the Lady Mustangs showcased their determination by quickly finding their rhythm and displaying teamwork and resilience in the last set. When asked how the team recovered Senior Allie Stephenson said, “We recovered by going back to the basics and ensured that our focus and communication was high throughout the last set.” Both Varsity and JV beat the knights in three-set matches. Varsity came home with scores of  25-13, 25-22, and 25-17 securing not only a remarkable victory but a strong start to district play.

JV also won in three sets, winning the first set, dropping the second, and persevering for the victory in the third set. This victory served as a testament to the Lady Mustangs’ unwavering commitment to excellence, setting a promising tone for the rest of their season. The Lady Mustangs play at home on September 12 against Tyler All Saints.
