On Thursday, May seventh the Mckinney Christian mustangs take on collivile continent. The McKinney Christian Mustangs saw their season come to a heartbreaking end in the regional round after a hard-fought 10-inning battle against Colleyville Covenant. Covenant took a 1-0 lead in the third inning before the Mustangs answered with a run in the fourth to tie the game, but Covenant added two more runs in the fifth to go ahead 3-1. Junior pitcher, Ian Mulligan, turned in an outstanding performance, pitching five strong innings while allowing only three runs and keeping the Mustangs within reach. Down to their final out in the seventh inning, McKinney Christian rallied as junior, Angel Rivera, and Mulligan each delivered clutch RBIs to tie the game at 3-3 and force extra innings. The two teams battled back and forth until the 10th inning when Covenant scored two runs and the Mustangs were unable to answer, ending an incredible season for McKinney Christian with a tough playoff loss.
