The MCA Upper School students are getting ready to go on their mission trips the week before spring break, traveling from New Mexico to the Dominican Republic to serve others and share the gospel. The freshman can choose to do local missions, available to every grade, or Costa Rica. During the Costa Rica trip, the students will travel to different places to serve, do school ministry, and go zip lining. The Seniors have a chance to go on any trip, even Costa Rica as leaders. The Juniors and Sophomores have the option to go on the college tour trip, where they go tour colleges in the Texas, Oklahoma area. There are other mission trips available to the Sophomores, including Arkansas, San Antonio, New Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. Mrs. Greenwell-Strunk, one of the San Antonio leaders, says, “During our mission trip to San Antonio, we partner with Blue Print Ministries to help restore and build houses in underprivileged neighborhoods While helping the people of San Antonio, we also get the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the history and culture of the city.” The Guatemala group will be led by Mr. Scott Roller. When asked about the mission trip, Roller says “Mrs. Crespi, Mrs. Cowan and I have been praying for the Guatemala Mission team since last March. We are super excited to see how God uses each student to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the people of Guatemala. Whether we are building homes for families in el Zapote, building relationships with the students at the school in their village, or experiencing Guatamalan culture as we visit the city of Antigua, we have an opportunity in each of these moments to give glory to God by loving our neighbor and sharing Jesus with them.” The last international mission trip team is headed to the Dominican Republic, which MCA hasn’t visited since 2020. MCA is excited to return to serve the Dominican Republic for the first time in 3 years. Missions week will start March 2nd and end March 8th.
